LONI DAVIS, PhD – Mobile Workforce: How to Design for Enacting Work Space In The Flow

Explore and share insights into what kinds of work space, time and psychosocial structures are emerging through mobile practice and how these insights bear on designing the workplace going forward. . .

The objectives of this session are to:

  • briefly consider recent research which focused on how an increasing portion of the contemporary workforce is using mobile devices to create new kinds of work-space flows characterized by emergence, liquidity, and the blurring of all kind of boundaries
  • explore and share insights into what kinds of work space, time and psychosocial structures are emerging through mobile practice and how these insights bear on designing the workplace going forward

We will then convene in self-selected smaller groups to explore the implications for designing 21st century organizations going forward.

 

Loni Davis, PhD, brings over twenty years of experience consulting, training and teaching in the areas of organization design, development, and change for a variety of profit and non-profit, national and international organizations in the healthcare, education, technology, and public sectors.  Currently Dr. Davis manages her own consulting practice.
