SENIOR CHANGE MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT – PETSMART (Phoenix, AZ)
The Senior Change Management Consultant is responsible for using best practices to lead and oversee change management processes and internal consulting. Assesses current and future change management needs, develops appropriate strategies, and translates those strategies into actionable, realistic project plans that support major systems implementations as well as other types of changes (organizational changes, process changes, etc.). Has a broad scope of influence over all parts of the enterprise through the problem solving of critical and complex change-related issues. Provides support to senior leaders and strategic projects across the enterprise (corporate, field/stores and distribution centers). Partners with Project Management Office, Corporate Communications, Learning team and HR Business Partners to execute processes and to address change management needs and concerns.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Change Management Program and Process Owner:
• Develops and maintains the PetSmart-specific process approach to large-scale change. This includes process work, continued development of supporting tools, and training the organization on the process and tools.
• Supports development, communication and training around the emotional side of change using the Bridges Transitions model.
• Monitors performance of implemented solutions via quality assurance review and continuously improves implementation capability. Ensures proper remediation is taking place for all change when required.
• Coordinates all Change efforts across the enterprise. Provides high-level monitoring and status reporting for all projects. Influences project assignments for change roles on projects.
Change Management Consultant:
• Act as a change management consultant for large-scale enterprise projects using the PetSmart change management process.
• Functions as part of the Project Leadership Team for major systems initiatives.
• Conducts stakeholder readiness assessments, evaluates results, identifies resistance and performance gaps and works to develop and implement interventions.
• Supports other team members as they develop and execute communication and training plans.
• Coordinates Change efforts within projects – coordinating team members from the PMO, HR, Corporate Communications and Learning teams.
• Uses analytics, surveys, statistics, metrics and trends to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and sustain the momentum around change efforts.
Change Management Capacity Management and Influencer:
• Leads the annual change management demand forecasting process levering off the VP Connect Capacity Calibration and HR Calibration processes. Updates forecasted demands quarterly to ensure organizational capacity and readiness to support demand.
• Facilitates and negotiates with Sr. Leaders to ensure understanding of change strategy and ensure proper delivery. Provides subject matter expertise and influence that may alter project direction.
• Mentors less experienced team members to assist in their training and development.
• Ensures understanding and adoption of common methodology and standards related to change management, communication processes or process improvements.
• As needed, supports additional organizational development, talent management and leadership projects.
Experience/Education Required Education & Experience:
• Position reports to the Director of Leadership Development.
• Bachelors or Masters degree with 8+ years strategic change management experience.
• Expert knowledge of change management discipline (process work and emotional support) and practical experience applying the knowledge.
• Advanced oral, written and facilitation communication skills. Executive Level presentations and briefing experience.
• Experience in leading large-scale systems change projects in a Fortune 500 or consulting company.
• Experience and comfort in influencing Senior Leaders to align them around change.

ORGANIZATIONAL DESIGN SPECIALIST – USPS (Washington, DC)
FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE: The US Postal Service is hiring for an Organizational Design Specialist. The successful candidate will be charged with resolving the most critical and complex organizational structure and management issues. Leads cross-functional teams to ensure the internal customers achieve organizational and strategic objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Designs and facilitates consulting engagements with executives to analyze and evaluate the function’s current structure and future business needs. Designs organizational structures that align with short-term and long-term business strategies.
2. Assesses the need for, and leads in the research, development, evaluation, improvement, and implementation of alternative approaches to organizational issues related to strategic alignment of business units organizational structures, management, and job evaluation.
3. Advises senior management on the impact of proposed organizational changes and restructures. Provides guidance in implementing new and revised cost effective, organizational structures.
4. Identifies and implements organizational design and change management strategies. Develops recommendations and implements processes, policies, and guidelines for conducting organizational reviews and improving alignment and allocation of resources at a national level.
5. Conducts workforce evaluations and analyzes current structures using job analysis, research, desk audits and observations and other analytical techniques.
6. Advises management on the accepted principles and policies governing management and organization structure issues, such as: communications, organizational change, staff development, performance management, and leadership effectiveness.
7. Develops, maintains, and monitors position and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) classifications. Implements commonly used job evaluation practices and FLSA exemption regulations to ensure compliance with the law.
8. Serves as a technical expert in the areas of organization design, job development, and job analysis. Provides project oversight and guidance to lower level employees on an ad-hoc basis.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Knowledge of job evaluation principles and techniques, including point factor and factor comparison job evaluation systems, sufficient to provide technical guidance to team members and customers, and establish procedures and standards for the evaluation and approval process for grade determinations and appropriate position mixes.
2. Knowledge of organization design principles and methodologies sufficient to lead consultative engagements and provide technical guidance to team members and customers.
3. Knowledge of human resources policies and organization management procedures necessary to ensure the smooth implementation of position and organizational changes.
4. Knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) exemption regulations at a level sufficient to ensure that job classifications are in compliance.
5. Ability to conduct research, including collecting and analyzing data, reporting findings, and making recommendations for reorganizations and alternative organizational designs.
6. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, including developing objectives and work plans; monitoring progress; identifying, analyzing, and evaluating issues and findings; formulating conclusions; developing recommendations; and implementing change.
7. Ability to coordinate and oversee the work of cross functional team members to achieve unit objectives, including organizing and monitoring the work, facilitating the flow of work related information, providing technical guidance, and evaluating individual and team strengths and development needs.
8. Ability to lead and facilitate coordination with functional area representatives in determining the feasibility and potential impact of proposed changes, developing programs and schedules for implementing changes, and designing monitoring systems.
9. Ability to communicate in writing to develop job descriptions; and guidelines, instructions, and procedures on organization design, development, and job evaluation issues; and to create documents for an executive level audience.
10. Ability to communicate orally to provide technical guidance to managers, field employees, and team members.
