MELISSA GOODSON – Social Technology Tools for Internal Workplace Collaboration

Social platforms are an important piece in overall communication strategy, helping the organization to become more agile and innovative. Socially inspired workplace solutions like Yammer and Slack can be useful in connecting communities and communicating brand culture and value. In this session Melissa will share a case study uncovering how to use social workplace tools to help with innovative design in team collaboration and inspire internal connection and conversation. In groups, participants will share their experiences will digital social planning in design and explore ways to improve internal messaging.

Melissa Goodson, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Management at The College of St. Scholastica, St. Paul campus, where she teaches and develops courses for the MBA in Leadership & Change program and the online undergraduate management program. For over 12 years, she has worked in leadership roles in marketing communications and strategic planning. She is a certified Social Media Specialist through the National Institute for Social Media. She serves as a board member and Marketing & Communications Director for the Minnesota Organization Development Network. Her interests include brand management, leadership development and organizational culture.
