CHRISTIN MERKEL – Transforming a Telecom

It is an interesting time at Verizon, a Fortune 15 company with a diverse workforce of 160,000 employees and revenues of $126B in 2016. Verizon is out in front to deliver the next generation technology to the world. In the words of Lowell McAdam, Verizon CEO: “5G will usher in the fourth industrial revolution”, which will bring consumer and business opportunities for Verizon as well as for many other organizations. While Verizon is at the forefront in driving this shift, success will require changes to business models and ways of working across the company.

  • Application of approaches and learning to the participants’ organizations.

 

Christin Merkel leads Organization Effectiveness across the entire Verizon portfolio.  In this role, she is responsible for ensuring high-level, complex enterprise-wide transformation initiatives drive their intended business results through strategy translation.  Prior to joining Verizon, she spent the majority of her career at Honeywell in organization design, talent management, business transformation, lean/six sigma and change management roles.  Christin earned a master’s degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Human Resources from State University of New York at Buffalo.
