The demands, opportunities and choices confronting organizations are increasingly complex and tangled. Leaders are faced with difficult, seemingly paradoxical challenges and often reliant on an outdated toolkit.

In complex environments, how do you scale and remain agile? How do we automate and keep people engaged in meaningful work? How do you organize for speed and keep pace with customer needs? At ODF 2018, we’ll explore these questions facing organizations.

As open-minded, inquiry-driven org designers, we recognize the need to seek ideas from “outside the box,” and build a rich toolbox of design approaches and methods. Organization Design continues to evolve along with the organizations we serve in creating resilient, versatile, adaptive and innovative organizations.

Join a group of experienced, committed, passionate practitioners to learn and share the needs and solutions that advance organizational capacities to more nimbly adapt and innovate.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/12″][/vc_column][vc_column border_color=”#153865″ width=”4/12″][mk_fancy_title font_family=”none”]

PEER WORKSHOPS

[/mk_fancy_title][vc_column_text]

This year’s selection of peer workshops offers a wide variety of learning opportunities for those looking to stretch their design thinking as well as for those looking to take home new tools and techniques. Workshops include topics on how to use social media tools in internal communications design, practices for scaling design capabilities, and how to apply natural systems principles to accelerate innovation.  All of the workshops emphasize application and will give you the opportunity to engage with the workshop presenters and your fellow practitioners for a richer learning experience.

SYNGINEERING: BUILDING AGILITY INTO EVERY ORGANIZATION

RICH THAYER, ZTC Consulting
BILL ZYBACH, ZTC Consulting

This session illustrates how to select among the four most common design methods based on what is the best fit-for-purpose given the specific combination of a business’s landscape, strategy and culture.  The workshop also demonstrates how to build agility into the design process for greater sustainability, rather than bolting it on afterwards.
