Sr. Organizational Development Consultant

Location: Seattle, WA, US (hybrid)

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

Role

In collaboration with other members of the OD and Learning Team, the Senior Organizational Development Consultant will consult with leaders at all levels of the organization regarding leader and team effectiveness (teaming best practices, change management, org. design, etc.). The role will help establish the practices and implementation of organization-wide efforts (performance management, engagement, change, etc.) The role has a heavy emphasis on leading Learning & Development programs (design, develop, and deploy, both individual and leader, skill development). This role will have the opportunity to work partially at our campus and remotely.

 

Responsibilities

Organization Development

  • Support employee engagement survey efforts, from start of the survey to analysis and follow-up related to team and org results
  • Collaborate on the design of new approaches and systems related to performance management an organizational learning
  • Collaborate on issues related to org culture, values and norms
  • Consult with leaders regarding organizational change
  • Coach leaders on change and transition issues and provide strategic advice and support on the implementation of changes for teams
  • Coach leaders on best team practices and offer support using data collection, facilitation and team intervention tools
  • Facilitate complex or high stakes meetings related to org change and strategic planning
  • Coach leaders on developmental and improvement paths
  • Consult with leaders on issues of organizational effectiveness and health
  • Provide coaching through the use of 360 and other assessments

Learning & Development

  • Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with organization leaders
  • Design an overall training and development plan that addresses skill and competency requirements
  • Deploy a wide variety of training methods (classroom, self-directed, etc.)
  • Develop and collaborate on the design of blended learning efforts, particularly in the area of leadership development

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or additional relevant experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years as an OD and Training Practitioner
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct leadership and management training
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a collaborative team
  • Mastery of group facilitation and group process skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OD constructs and corresponding usage of tools related to team building, change mgt., leadership dev and org systems assessment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of team and leader assessment methodologies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of learning program design (skill and competency development)
  • Ability to manage projects related to Org-wide efforts
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters in OD or a related field
  • Experience in an academic research or/healthcare

The annual base salary range for this position is from $104,416 to $165,006, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. This position may be eligible for a sign on bonus.

Experienced Operating Model Consultant

Location: US and/or UK/EU

Role Requirements:

OTM is searching for talented, exceptional, and experienced Organization Design practitioner to successfully carry out the following key responsibilities. At a minimum, the ideal candidate(s) must bring:

  • Minimum of a University degree.
  • Demonstrated five to seven (5-7) years’ experience in planning and delivering organization design solutions. Beyond changing organization charts.
  • Practical working knowledge and experience in organization design.
  • Practical working knowledge and experience delivering change work. Proactive change
    work (not change management).
  • Skilled in fundamental facilitation skills. Will need to provide evidence of expertise and/or
    trainings successfully completed. Leading teams and groups through decision making,
    problem-solving and planning.
  • Must pass both Baseline Personnel Security Standard check and UKSV SC clearance –
    these will be conducted during the probation period and are mandatory for this role.
  • Experience working as both as an internal and external change agent. (Internal = HR,
    Lean, OD, Finance, Operations, etc. and external = consultant).
  • Skilled in using various collaborative methodologies (e.g., Whole-Scale Change,
    Participative Design, Open Space, ICA TOP Methods, etc.). Will need to provide evidence
    of expertise and/or trainings successfully completed.
  • Skilled in process consultation.
  • Have some experience of successful business development and business winning.
  • Experience in conducting marketing and business generation activities including writing
    blogs and articles, delivering webinars, presentations, and content in our field.
  • Be willing to make a career choice to work in a global boutique professional services firm
    as an integral part of a small, international yet strong, capable team.
  • Be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally with minimal constraint up to
    two weeks per month on average.
  • Demonstrated competence using technology and full suite of MS Office software and
    working in a MS365 SharePoint environment.
  • Technology savvy.
  • Self-starter, working autonomy, reliable, comfortable working virtually and collaboratively.

The role is responsible for a share of successful networking and business development, planning and delivery of organization design projects, contributing to OTM IP and brand assets.

Business development and business winning includes reaching out, attending events in the evening and weekends, qualifying of leads, proposal writing and contract winning.

OTM’s consulting delivery model is based on a team of three: support consultant, operating model consultant working alongside senior consultants on projects from start to finish, working from the “process consultant” perspective utilizing the power of collaborative approaches. International Senior Consultant

Location: US and/or UK/EU

The Role and Requirements:

OTM is searching for talented, exceptional and experienced Senior Consulting practitioners to successfully carry out the following key responsibility areas. The ideal candidate(s) must have a proven, demonstrable track record in:

  • Successful planning and delivering of organization designs and/or modernizing operating models for an entire enterprise, BU’s or Functions or departments.
  • Doing substantive change work both as an internal and external (ideally). Can meaningfully discuss the difference between change management and change readiness.
  • Training in and use of a variety of collaborative methodologies. E.g., Whole-scale change, Participative Design, Search Conference, Brief Strategic Change, etc.
  • Masterful at process consultation/group facilitation. E.g., Schein, Swartz, TOP methods, etc.
  • Successful business development/winning. Able to a bring client base and/or network to OTM.
  • Build lasting mutually-beneficial customer relationships with C-level execs, senior and front-line staff. Executive presence a must.
  • Able to plan, lead and execute complex and complicated projects. Able to do real work.
  • Record of writing and delivering original content in our field. Willingness to contribute to OTM IP, original content at www.on-the-mark.com.
  • Desiring to make a career choice to work in a global boutique professional services firm as an integral part of a small, cohesive, strong, capable team.
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally with minimal constraint up to two weeks per month on average.
  • Commerical experience a huge plus working both as an internal and external.
  • Work in culturally diverse, global environments. Bi-lingual skills a plus.

The role is responsible for successful business winning (4x their total comp package), planning, leading and implementing complicated and complex transformation projects from start to finish, contributing to OTM IP and brand assets. Business development/winning includes generating and qualifying of leads, proposal writing and contract winning. OTM invests significant resources into marketing.
