Marcia Murphy

Based in the United Kingdom, Marcia is independent consultant specialising in Organisation Design and Organisation Effectiveness. Throughout the course of her career, she has worked internally as an OD specialist inside large, complex organisations and as an external consultant – both independently and within strategy and change consultancy firms.

Sector agnostic, Marcia has completed numerous joint venture, enterprise-wide and functional redesigns across a wide range of industries including aviation, retail, media, education, logistics, hospitality, construction, energy, advanced technologies, healthcare and sports management. Her current focus tends to be upstream in the design process: working collaboratively with clients to articulate their strategic intentions and ambitions, defining the critical competitive capabilities that will drive performance, developing the right operating model to deliver those capabilities, and orchestrating the full spectrum of OD levers to bring that model to life.

An ODF member for several years, Marcia served on the conference organising committee in 2023 and 2024. She has a keen interest in building OD skills and knowledge in the practitioner and business leadership communities, and ensuring the ongoing relevance of the profession in a rapidly changing world.
