How could design thinking, UX design and other forms of design inspire organization design? Specifically, this session highlights the role of experiments and prototypes in other forms of design and how organization design might use prototyping and experiments.

Description:

This session will introduce attendees to key insights from design studies, and how these could inform organization design. It will be a largely interactive session in which participants are invited to “play” with the new concepts shared with them and explore together their practical value. This will be done with a counter-factual thought experiment, where we ask the participants: what if…?, thus exploring how organization design would go, if it was a design process where experiments and iterative dialogue between stakeholders are central. Experimentation is important, as enables identifying and literally testing for authentic connections, as well as revisions, and evolution of the organization. Attendees will come away with practical inspirations for why and how to go about experimenting with their organisation design, specifically how to design smaller experiments and learn from them.
