November Topic: The Role of Network Design in our Work

In the post-Covid world, network organizations and ecosystem design are a key part of designing organizations for the future.  Over the last 2-3 years, organizations with “network savvy” and had built constellations of possible partners, have survived and thrived.

Many of us talk about social network mapping (bringing transparency to the informal power and influencers) and/or organizational network mapping (looking at the constellation of actors and players in particular areas), I wonder how many of us actually incorporate it into our design methodologies!

I would like to talk about:

1) What do we mean when we use the word “network?”

2) What role does network mapping (sensing) play in your work? Do you do it? If not, why not?

3) What creates a highly capable networked/ing organization? Do you have examples of who is doing it well? What differentiates them from others who might not be as capable in your mind?

The Org Design Coffee Club will meet monthly for group conversation on topics of special interest in the field. We encourage people at all levels of experience and a vast array of interests to attend.
