with

NEXT-GEN WORKFORCE PLANNING TOOLS

featuring Philip Hofton and Sebastiaan Bos with Nakisa

Workforce Planning (WFP) should be both complementary to and a natural extension of organization design (OD). Workforce sourcing requirements need to be done using all available data and tools. Once sourcing is in place, the organization’s present structure and makeup need to be visualized and understood. Then, multiple ‘what-if scenarios’ should be done to efficiently model the optimal workforce size, skills mix, and composition necessary to achieve strategic business objectives. This feeds and drives headcount planning, which, when complete, will help ensure alignment between the workforce structure and the strategic goals – all before implementing any concrete, irreversible plans.

In many ways, WFP is the ounce of prevention that’s worth much more than the pound of cure. Despite this, WFP and OD often remain surprisingly disconnected within many organizations, and many enterprises still do not take advantage of the advanced OD and WFP solutions available on the market. This inevitably causes many gaps in both assumptions and outcomes for Org Design and Workforce Planning practitioners.

In this Tech Talk, we will explore and demonstrate how data-driven software integrates Org Design activities with WFP.  We will showcase the ability to quickly and accurately visualize an organization’s structure and model what-if scenarios. We will also discuss how democratizing substantial portions of both OD and WFP to non-HR managers can significantly improve organizational efficiency and enhance cross-organization collaboration. Finally, the key success indicators that help organizations evaluate the effectiveness of their OD and WFP efforts will be explored.

Attend this tech talk to learn:

  • practical tools and techniques for seamlessly integrating Org Design and Workforce Planning in your organization
  • insights into measuring success in these pivotal processes, including key success indicators
  • innovative ways to leverage people data to enhance OD and WFP activities
  • how to use business outcomes as the driver for these processes

Tech Talks is a new series we are offering to introduce technology tools and concepts that enhance and streamline organization design and delivery. Our technology partners will use real world scenarios to demonstrate how to solve problems, improve the design team experience and project effectiveness.

We will also offer perspectives on building capability, how to develop a business case, gain support and build adoption, and allow time for Q&A. We encourage anyone connected to organization design with any level of experience to attend.
