Organization Design: The Profession and
The Practitioner

We’re delighted to announce a new three-part webinar series for organization design practitioners: The Organization Designer: Conversations with Greg Kesler and Amy Kates

Each session will feature Greg and Amy, two of the most influential figures in organization design, whose firm, Kates Kesler, shaped the field for two decades before its acquisition by Accenture. They have been working at the forefront of organization design: advising global organizations, building one of the most respected organization design consultancies in the world, and writing some of the field’s most widely referenced publications.

Their forthcoming book, The Organization Designer, is yet another important contribution to the field: a practical framework for approaching organization design, enriched with the wisdom of reflective personal learnings. Drawing on this content, and complimented by findings from ODF’s recent practitioner research, they’ll reflect on what it takes to deliver demonstrable value in a rapidly changing organizational landscape.

The three topics in the series are:

  • Organization Design: The Profession and The Practitioner — June 25
  • Organization Design, AI, and Today’s Changing Business Context — September, date TBD
  • Organization Design Tools and Methods — November, date TBD

In the first session, Organization Design: The Profession and The Practitioner, Greg and Amy will tackle some of the most pressing issues facing practitioners today, including how to build credibility with senior leaders, the “democratization” of organization design, the need for deeper business fluency, and the skills and knowledge required by organization design practitioners now and in the future.

ODF Board member, Marcia Murphy, will open the session with selected highlights from ODF’s recent practitioner research, before hosting the discussion with Greg and Amy.

The session will include 60 minutes of structured discussion, including audience Q&A, followed by an additional 30 minutes of open conversation for those who would like to stay on.

We hope you can join us for one, two, or all three of these events!
