In our next Org Design by Technology (ODxT) session featuring Orgsure on June 9th, we are going to explore why many technology-driven design initiatives do not achieve planned ROI and how we can improve outcomes. Analysis of root causes for missed targets suggests that solutions may be in the job architecture. New technologies tend to optimize work execution disproportionately to work coordination (the levers of ROI).

Dean Walsh holds a PhD in Organization Studies with a focus on structural forms, the role of informal structures in decision-making and influence, and the application of social network analysis in organizational assessment. He also earned an MBA with concentrations in management and information systems. As a consultant with more than 20 years of experience, Dean has advised companies on structural design, work and role alignment, team and job design, and governance and operating model alignment, integrating academic training with practical application. Building on this work, he co-founded Orgsure to extend these principles through scalable, data-driven tools that help leaders better understand how work is defined and managed.

AI is reshaping the scope and composition of work across the entire organization, forcing explicit design decisions about how work is structured. The 2026 ODxT series focuses on how to identify and make practical choices in team and job architecture.

ODxT is a series we are offering to introduce technology tools and concepts that enhance and streamline organization design and delivery. Our technology partners will use real world scenarios to demonstrate how to solve problems, improve the design team experience and project effectiveness.  We will consider perspectives on building capability, how to develop a business case, gain support and build adoption, and allow time for Q&A. We encourage anyone connected to organization design with any level of experience to attend.
