Let’s talk all things Organization Design! ODF will host a monthly virtual coffee (or cocktail depending on where you are in the globe) club for people interested in or working in the field.
We meet monthly for two to three rounds of participant-led breakouts to chat about topics of special interest to practitioners.
Topic: Orgs must transform ‘in motion’ – learning and adapting as they perform
ODF’s 2026 Annual Conference was the last week of April with a theme of “Transforming in Motion: Design for Continuous Evolution” and we’d love to explore the topic in our next Club meet-up. The conference sessions built on the exploration of practitioners feeling like the era of “design, implement, redesign” is over. In today’s world of perpetual change and disruption, organizations must transform in motion, learning and adapting as they perform. They must continuously and fluidly evolve in response to constantly shifting pressures.
The conversations explored ways to build organizations with resilience, renewal, and reflexes at their core. Looking for new thinking, practical tools, and the capabilities needed to design and implement dynamic, responsive systems where change is less a threat and more a source of momentum. A belief that organizations should – and can – evolve while they work. It’s a pivotal time for Org Design, with so many new organizational and external challenges that require thoughtful and effective responses, and we see it as an immense opportunity to fundamentally rethink the value and impact Organization Design can bring. Have you been contemplating whether . . .
- your operating model is helping people adapt — or quietly exhausting them?
- your systems and structures create safe, scalable autonomy, or do they unintentionally limit empowerment?
- your culture change strategy is building a movement people want to join?
- you are tapping into human energy and inner capacity as part of your design toolkit?
- your organization is prepared to reinvent itself before disruption forces the issue?
Let’s see what engaging prompter questions our host, Julian, suggests as starting points for the small group discussions in this next Coffee to Cocktails Club meeting!
